How to Wrap your Tape
For cyclists seeking quality and style, Pedal Haus Leather Bar Tape is the ultimate solution. The process of wrapping your leather bar tape is essentially the same as wrapping a synthetic tape. We do however advise getting a professional mechanic to wrap your handlebars and to use screw-in bar plugs to secure your bar tape. This will ensure your investment in a high end product looks its best and has maximum longevity.
Immerse your leather in room temperature water for 3-5mins. Do not use hot water as this may affect the glue integrity.
Position smaller scripts in the center of your brake levers.
Start at the end of your handle bars. Position the tape at about half way to ensure enough leather to secure into the bar with a screw in plug.
Wrap towards you. Do not over stretch. You want the wrap to be firm, but the holds to maintain their shape. Overlap the tape by 5mm.
Secure end with screw in plug.
Put in bolt and tighten.
Continue to wrap. Take your time to space evenly, and keep the the wrap tight.
Pull the hoods back slightly. Wrap under and over around your brake leaves. Take care to ensure once you hoods are in place there are no gaps.
Continue to wrap until you are two finger widths away from stem. Secure with electrical tape.
